Summer Fashion with Caroline

Looking for some style inspo for the new season? Fashion blogger Caroline Cook (@carolinesstylehacks), takes us through the main fashion trends to watch out for this Summer and where you can pick them up at Silverburn.

Summer has arrived (sort of!) and I’m ready for less layers and full summer looks. Fortunately, Silverburn has everything you need, whether you’re spending time at home or jetting off on holiday.   I visited recently and picked out some great swimwear at M&S, daytime looks at White Stuff, gorgeous linens at The White Company and stunning dressing up options at Next.

First up, M&S has an amazing selection of swimwear.  Lots of bright bold colours in interesting textures and prints.  There’s a great choice of swimsuits and bikinis that I enjoyed accessorising with bags and light layers.

Make sure to check out M&S sandals which often come in ½ sizes. I really rate the Footbed range and have been a fan for the last few summers.  The sandals are comfy and look super luxe – double win.  I’ve also had my straw tote from M&S for three summers now and I noticed there are some colourful beach options this year.

Then I headed into the White Stuff store. The brand’s comfy classics are a favourite of mine all year round and they always have unique printed co-ords and separates to mix and match.

I enjoy wearing breezy lightweight trousers on holiday and these are a fun style that I could easily pair with black.  This print was also available in a short dress which would be perfect for the British summer or as a beach cover-up.

Check out easy-to-wear tunics and embroidered blouses which will work alongside linen shorts and trousers you may already have in your wardrobe.

Again, White Stuff has a good selection of summer bags and accessories to update your wardrobe or add some fun alongside classics.

I love visiting The White Company.  They are beautifully merchandised and the Silverburn store has a substantial clothing collection.  At the moment, they have a large selection of quality linens in a neutral palette.  If you like comfortable tactile fabrics, The White Company is the place for you.

This linen trench and dress will be classics in my wardrobe for many years.  The quality is so good.  They both drape beautifully and are very comfy for travel or busy days at home. The trench will work well with denim and black. Add a Mary Jane shoe for a city look with tapered trousers or jeans and trainers at the weekend.  Look out for the lovely summer scarfs The White Company have in store for quick updates to your summer style.

Make sure to stock up on all things beauty whilst you’re at Silverburn. Boots has everything you need for your holiday tanning prep and sunbathing as well as all the large make up brands we all love.   I particularly like stocking up on suntan lotion for my family, especially when they are on offer, as well as fake tan products.  My biggest tip for holiday prep is to fake tan before you go!  I like to feel tanned and holiday-ready the minute I get off the plane…

Don’t forget to drop by the BPerfect Cosmetics store for lots of lovely makeup and skincare products to give you that summer glow.  I’ve used the 10 Second Tan for years.  It dries quickly and gives a natural golden glow.

Next always has great summer pieces including brilliant swimwear, shoes and accessories.  However, I was really impressed with its summer sequins in particular.  I love wearing sparkle in warmer weather and especially on holiday but they are great to wear all year round, too.  Next has a stunning sequin blazer which would work so well with denims for sunny days at home or a cover-up for breezy nights abroad.  There is also some stunning dressing up options like this sequin cut out dress.  Look at this bag and shoes –  so good for updating key items in your wardrobe that you already own.

If you’re looking for a hard-working summer dressing up option, I will always recommend a suit. It can be worn for a special event then dressed down with trainers and a t-shirt or worn as separates to get lots of wear out of this investment outfit.  I love this linen blue option at Next.

For the final touches,  you’ll find so many great places to buy accessories at Silverburn.  Shoes at Zara, trainers and great summer brands like Birkenstock at Office plus TK Maxx and H&M for quirky budget friendly options.

If you like to find everything you need for Summer in one shopping destination, Silverburn is the place for you..

There are lots of options to help you sparkle through the summer months.
